A New Identity for Downtown Jenks

Downtown Jenks is set to receive a fresh identity with the introduction of "The 10 District" branding. This citizen-led project, driven by marketing and branding specialists Bryan Wilks and Shae Roach, has been in development for the past year and a half. Their goal is to invigorate the heart of Jenks and make it a more appealing destination for businesses and visitors alike.

The Inspiration Behind "The 10 District"

Wilks explained that the name "The 10 District" was chosen to reflect the city's history of excellence. The designated area encompasses the 10 blocks of Main Street situated between First Oklahoma Bank and the railroad tracks. "All of what you need to have an amazing district is here," Wilks stated. "We just needed to inspire it a little bit, push it along."

Economic Impact and Community Support

The organizers are optimistic that this new branding will serve as a catalyst for attracting new businesses to Main Street. Wilks indicated that several well-known stores have expressed interest in opening locations in Jenks. The initiative is also seen as a way for Jenks to remain competitive with other popular districts like the Rose District, Brookside, and Utica Square.

Local business owners are also expressing enthusiasm for the rebranding. Corey Crandall, owner of George's Pub, located in the heart of the soon-to-be "10 District," shared his long-held desire for such a revitalization. "I’ve been wanting something like that for probably 13 years," Crandall said. "It’s neat to see it’s finally starting to come into fruition."

The City of Jenks has officially endorsed the rebranding effort, particularly appreciating that the initiative has been undertaken at no cost to the city. "You know a lot of times cities are threatened by possible citizen-led brands or citizen-led initiatives," Wilks commented. "Not the case in Jenks!"

Residents can soon expect to see new signage and a mural along Main Street that will visually represent the "10 District" brand, further solidifying the downtown area's new identity.
