Jenks Public Schools Welcomes New Assistant Athletic Director and Girls Head Basketball Coach

Jenks Public Schools has announced two significant additions to its athletic department, signaling a commitment to continued excellence. Baron Potter has been recommended as the new Assistant Athletic Director, bringing a wealth of experience from Edmond North High School. Concurrently, Jamie Combs is set to take the helm as the Head Girls Basketball Coach, joining Jenks after a highly successful tenure at Tuttle High School.
New Leadership in Jenks Athletics
Jenks Public Schools is poised to welcome Baron Potter as its new Assistant Athletic Director. Potter's extensive background includes serving as the site athletic director at Edmond North High School, where he oversaw daily operations. During his time at Edmond North, the school's teams achieved remarkable success, securing 15 state championships and 16 state runner-up finishes.
Potter expressed excitement about joining the Jenks community, citing its tradition of excellence in both academics and athletics.
He emphasized his commitment to building strong relationships and fostering a culture of hard work, integrity, and pride.
Clay Martin, Jenks Director of Athletics, highlighted Potter's drive and selfless leadership as key factors in his selection, anticipating significant benefits for the department.
Potter is a graduate of Harding University and held various athletic roles at Edmond North from 2010, eventually becoming site athletic director in 2021. His experience also includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Coaches Association.
A New Era for Lady Trojan Basketball
Jamie Combs has been recommended to lead the Jenks Lady Trojan Basketball program as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach. Combs comes to Jenks from Tuttle High School, where she compiled an impressive 69-16 record over three seasons, guiding the Lady Tigers to the 4A State Tournament in both 2023 and 2024.
Combs expressed her honor and excitement to lead the Lady Trojan Basketball team, drawn by Jenks' strong tradition of excellence.
Her goal is to build upon this tradition by empowering young athletes to excel both on and off the court, fostering great leaders, students, athletes, and people.
Martin praised Combs' wealth of experience and proven track record of building strong relationships with players and maximizing team potential.
Before her successful stint at Tuttle, Combs coached at Piedmont High School, Union High School, and Berryhill High School, and served as an assistant coach at Mustang High School. She holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Tulsa and a master's degree in sports administration from East Central University.
