Jenks High School has once again demonstrated its athletic prowess, securing dominant victories at the Oklahoma (OSSAA) 6A State Swimming Championships. Both the boys' and girls' teams reclaimed their state titles, continuing a legacy of excellence in the pool. The championships, held in Jenks, saw the Trojans' swimmers outperform fierce competition, solidifying their status as top contenders in the state.
Girls' Dominance Secures 15th State Title
The Jenks girls' swim team achieved a resounding victory, clinching their 15th state title in school history. They amassed 427 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Bartlesville with 338 points. The team's success was highlighted by a clean sweep of the relay events. Senior Marissa Williams was a key contributor, earning 35 points individually and securing a win in the 100 butterfly with a lifetime best of 56.66. The 200 medley relay team, featuring Mylie Bradley, Macie Bradley, Williams, and Lillian Eaton, set a strong pace, while the 200 free relay and 400 free relay also saw Jenks swimmers touch the wall first.

In addition to their swimming success, the Jenks High School football team also achieved a significant victory, defeating Tulsa Union 42-7 in a Class 6AI Oklahoma quarterfinal playoff game. Running back Kaydin Jones was a standout performer, rushing for 203 yards and four touchdowns. The Trojans' dominant performance avenged an earlier season loss to Union and propelled them into the 6AI semifinals. Quarterback Owen Jones also contributed with a 49-yard touchdown pass to Kayleb Barnett.
Other Notable Performances
Several other swimmers achieved notable successes at the state championships. Bartlesville's Anna Young defended her titles in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Edmond North's Laney Jones won both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. In the boys' competition, Edmond North's Jack Starrett won the 100 freestyle, and Norman High School's JD Thumann defended his 6A title in the 50 freestyle and won the 100 backstroke.
