Jenks Gears Up for Small Business Saturday with Festive Boutique Crawl
Downtown Jenks is set to buzz with activity this Small Business Saturday as local boutiques host a special "boutique crawl." The event aims to attract shoppers with a festive atmosphere, featuring Santa Claus, live music, and enticing discounts. This initiative is designed to support local businesses and encourage community shopping.
Key Takeaways
A "boutique crawl" is being organized in downtown Jenks for Small Business Saturday.
The event includes Santa Claus, live music, and special discounts.
Shoppers can participate in a giveaway contest by collecting stamps from participating stores.
Some businesses are offering extended Black Friday deals through Saturday.
The first 30 attendees will receive a free "swag bag.
Supporting Local Businesses
Organizers are highlighting the importance of "shopping small" to keep money within the local community. Britny Pittman, one of the event's organizers, emphasized that supporting small businesses benefits everyone. "You're keeping your money right here in your community and of course that is you know, good for everybody,” Pittman stated.
The Boutique Crawl Experience
Participating shoppers will receive a passport. By spending at least $10 at each listed store, they will be entered into a giveaway contest with a prize valued at over $1,000. This prize includes gift cards to local restaurants and special contributions from each participating merchant. This encourages a deeper engagement with the variety of shops available.
Vendor Support and Special Offers
In addition to supporting established businesses, the event is also making space for small vendors who may not have a physical storefront. This provides a valuable opportunity for these emerging businesses to gain exposure and boost their sales. Justin Wenzel, owner of The Wooden Toolbox Furniture Co., expressed his support, saying, "We understand what it takes to be a small business so we really support pushing other small businesses and helping them get to where they want to be.”
Wenzel's store is offering a 20% discount on all custom builds and custom chairs, with a wide selection of materials and styles available, from green velvet to camel leather. These Black Friday deals are extended through Saturday, adding extra incentive for shoppers.
A Day of Shopping and Dining in Jenks
Pittman noted that downtown Jenks offers a diverse range of products, including new furniture, clothing, toys, and candles. With the addition of multiple restaurants, she believes the area is perfect for a full day of exploration. "There's really something for everybody down here and now we have multiple restaurants,” she said. “You can just walk around and spend a whole day down here. I don't think people realize that.”
The event is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first 30 shoppers to arrive will receive a complimentary "swag bag" filled with various goodies, making for an even more rewarding start to their Small Business Saturday shopping experience.
